They lie to the public in order to get their donations.UNFORTUNATELY, BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE NO SHOWS, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY I was originally told by them that they were a no kill or a 99.3% no kill shelter but this is not true. They seem thrilled to euthanize every animal. They could not care for 1o animals in the conditions they now have these animals living in. There are not prepared to care for the animals they now have. DO NOT leave any animal at this place at this time. I will be turning them into everyone that I can in order to have this place shut down and/or totally redone with new staff and a total new director because what is there now is not working. They did not know they were talking to me a person who clearly still is a animal rights advocate and have rescued many dogs from puppy mills and insane conditions. This place needs to be clearly SHUT DOWN. I was able to see inside the clearly dirty and un kept kennels and the conditions there are atrocious. They are c leaky not caring for the animals. Stay away from this polar and do not go there. NEVER LEAVE OR ADOPT ANY ANIMAL FROM JOPLIN HUMAN SOCIETY. If it stinks when you step in then back out. I will never step foot in that place again. I would advise anyone NEVER LEAVE A CAT or KITTEN there expecting them to find a home as they will be euthanized immediately as PER WHAT THEY stated. I refuse to acknowledge this place exists because whomever the director is there is doing and atrocious job. Then they gave us other places to call who also refused us because they said we did not live there. I ask them if they would prefer that we put a bullet into the cats head and they said YES before they would take the young cat. We were wiling to give them big donation but never will. I find that to be complete unacceptable for any humane society. They told us if we left her there they would immediately EUTHANIZE her as they are immediately euthanizing all cats being brought in for adoption. They refused to take a young kitten that had been dumped by our home. Dogs were barking all over the place of neglect. It stunk really bad and was very unkempt.
